Pause

I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
for hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love,
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.

  1. I just noticed that I didn't comment on this post; I meant to as soon as I read it. I was having a particularly sad night when I originally saw and read this one, and the image and the words brought me a lot of comfort. Thank you.

  2. That piece looks like a dream. I love that she is resting on nature and on the right side there are the man made beauties: music, writing and things that we make. Beautiful.
And I adore that Elliot poem. I am not a big believer in hope. Letting go of hope has been hard but also liberating.

  3. Yes that thing about hope was so enlightening to me...the Buddhist believe that hope is not the opposite of fear, hopelessness is. I think it is a good concept to embrace.
